AJ Griffin, Ed D

AJ Griffin is the President and CEO of the Potts Family Foundation, a dual-mission organization dedicated to enhancing nonprofit capacity and funding initiatives that improve early childhood programs in Oklahoma. Griffin is a former member of the Oklahoma State Senate where she earned recognition for her impactful work in juvenile justice, child welfare, healthcare, and criminal justice reform. Her legislative contributions garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious Kate Barnard Oklahoma Child Advocate of the Year award.


Before her legislative career, Griffin was an educator and nonprofit executive, experiences that continue to inform her civic engagement. She serves on several boards, including the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, the Oklahoma Academy for State Goals, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. On the national stage, she is active with Human Rights for Kids, a group focused on juvenile justice reform, the Bipartisan Policy Center’s child welfare task force, United We, and the Prenatal-to-Three Policy Impact Center. She was recently appointed as a trustee to the Oklahoma County Detention Center, where she works to improve conditions for those jailed in Oklahoma County. Dr. Griffin was named one of the 50 Most Influential non-elected Oklahomans by The Journal Record.


Griffin earned her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Central Oklahoma. She holds a Doctor of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University.
